WhatsApp: 0️⃣7️⃣8️⃣3️⃣ 4️⃣5️⃣0️⃣ 7️⃣9️⃣3️⃣ ---------- Posting on Twitter where he demanded the immediate release of the traditional leader, Chamisa said: > Trumped up charges and arrest of Chief Ndiweni of Ntabazinduna is a direct attack on Zimbabwean culture and traditional leadership. This attack opens yet another fresh national wound that will be difficult to heal. We demand the immediate release of the chief and his subjects. The matter which resulted in Ndiweni’s arrest and subsequent imprisonment is believed to have taken place in 2017. It is alleged that in 2017, Mbele, a resident in Ndiweni’s chiefdom, and his wife fought over an adultery matter which was reported to Ndiweni who ordered that Mbele’s wife should vacate the matrimonial home. The duo however later reconciled but Ndiweni insisted that the wife vacate but Mbele’s wife did not. Ndiweni accused the duo of disrespecting the court and then allegedly destroyed Mbele’s fence and kraal, took Mbele’s cow and a calf as a fine and also took Mbele’s wife to her parents’ home against the couple’s will. Ndiweni also reportedly threatened to destroy Mbele’s home if he did not vacate the area. Ndiweni has been arguing that his arrest was former Cabinet Minister, Obert Mpofu’s way of punishing him after he filed a lawsuit against him sometime back for allegedly stealing 200 cattle belonging to his late father, Chief Khayisa Ndiweni.
