WhatsApp: 0️⃣7️⃣8️⃣3️⃣ 4️⃣5️⃣0️⃣ 7️⃣9️⃣3️⃣ ---------- The MDC has been announcing, for a long period of time now, that it would confront the government over the uninspiring state of affairs. Recently, the party, however, said that the timing for confrontation was not yet right. MDC top officials, including Secretary-General, Charlton Hwende and party spokesperson, Daniel Molokele, told New Zimbabwe that the party has been trying to get access to the funds but in vain. An unnamed source said: > We have not received our share from the Political Parties Finance Act because government thinks we will use the money to fund protests. They are scared and now are withholding the money despite a public pronouncement to the effect that the money was now available. These sentiments were echoed by Molokele who also revealed that Hwende has unsuccessfully tried all sorts of tricks to get the money. His remarks also concurred with those of Hwende who said that the government has been making unreasonable excuses in an endeavour to withhold the money. He said that contrary to ZANU PF belief, the MDC intends to use the money to support Parliamentary programmes. He added that they need to hire people who would assist legislators in the implementation of developmental initiatives.
