All ex-combatants including ex-detainees, war collaborators and others are expected to attend the meeting. The publication also reports that Fredrick Ngombe led a group of war veterans in December and approached president Emmerson Mnangagwa over their bonuses. It is believed that they wanted them to be raised to about ZWL$2 000. War veterans were in 1997 given ZW$50 000 each as compensation for their war efforts and injuries sustained at the battlefront. Some argue that the move marked the demise of the Zimbabwean economy since it had not been budgeted for.
