*"The Challenge With MDC Presidium Like Tsvangirai’s Is On Succession Planning," - ANALYST* *Follow Pindula on WhatsApp for daily new updates* https://whatsapp.com/channel/0029Va84dngJP21B2nWeyM3v?sq A political analyst has argued that the just ended MDC congress might have necessitated the rise of a succession. The congress elected Nelson Chamisa as its president with Tendai Biti, Welshman Ncube and Lennet Kairenyi-Kore as vice presidents. Speaking to The Daily News political analyst Maxwell Saungweme said succession might be an issue for the party. He said: ---------- Latest itel A06 on Pindula: 32GB storage, 4GB RAM $69 USD WhatsApp: +263715068543 Calls: 0772464000 ---------- > They will unite or differ as lawyer-politicians who have strong personalities. The challenge with that presidium like Tsvangirai’s is on succession planning. > You have a far much younger and popular president and older deputies who cannot easily fit in the president’s shoes in a vibrant largely youthful movement. So as long as Chamisa is there the centre will hold, once he is not there the centre will not hold. Saungweme also criticised the party’s decision of having three vice presidents. He said: > Zimbabwe does not need more than one VP; same with a political party. This was borrowed from former president Robert Mugabe and Tsvangirai, and then inherited by Chamisa. It’s a nonsensical, tribal balance notion that leaves a country and party with a bloated and heavy presidium.
