*'Mebo' Hitmaker, Obert Chari Denies Being Sacked By Zion Church For Singing In Night Clubs* https://www.pindula.co.zw/2019/01/24/mebo-hitmaker-obert-chari-denies-being-sacked-by-zion-church-for-singing-in-night-clubs/?article Obert Chari of the Zion Christian Church (ZCC) denied rumours that he has been excommunicated by his church for singing secular music. Chari took the airwaves by storm towards the end of 2018 with his hit song ‘Mebo’. The 31-year-old has reportedly started to make live performances in bars and nightclubs, a move which did not go down well with his church’s presbytery. Speaking in an interview with NewZimbabwe.com on Tuesday, Chari clarified on the rumours that he had been de-churched. Said Chari: _This is actually my first time hearing about that rumour. I never had any problem with my churchmates over my music._ _My church mates have been very supportive. They wished for me to perform outside the church. They encouraged me to pen songs about love to expand my music career._ Chari said that when he was aged 25, the ZCC church leader, Bishop Nehemiah Mutendi encouraged him to record his songs. Mebo (Marble) is Chari’s wife whom he married in 2016. ---------- *Latest itel A70* - now available on Pindula 128GB storage, 8GB RAM *$89 Cash on Delivery.* _We deliver in Harare and Bulawayo everyday between 9am and 4pm_ also available on Zero Deposit to Civil Servants and Pensioners.
