As a result, the revenue collector was owed $4.2 billion as of the beginning of April. Speaking in Bulawayo on Thursday, Mazanhi said, > As at end of first quarter ended March 31, 2018, the authority’s tax debt was sitting at $4,227 billion and of this 80 percent is owed by the private sector. > …It is only just a quarter of registered business players complying with their tax filing obligations. This leaves the tax burden on the shoulders of a few companies and individuals. However, business disputed the figures saying that Zimra was miscalculating and that it’s ICT system was not up to date. Mazani conceded that there may be issues with Zimra’s ICT system and said efforts were being made to fix it. ---------- Pindula is best experienced with the Android App. *Download APK here:* https://zero.pindula.co.zw/media/apps/apks/pindula23.apk _On Econet, Pindula does NOT use your data_ ---------- > We are doing our best to clean our systems and we hope by the end of the year we will give accurate accounts and issue clearance based on proper balances.
