*Is It Safe To Join March To State House? ... And Some Safety Tips* *Follow Pindula on WhatsApp for daily new updates* https://whatsapp.com/channel/0029Va84dngJP21B2nWeyM3v?pg Zimbabweans are marching to the State House today in Harare. They will be coming from Zimbabwe Grounds in Highfields, as well as 4th street bus terminus in the Harare CBD. The question many people have is how safe it’s going to be to join the march. To get an idea of the safety it’s good to understand the leaders behind the march, which other leaders in society are supporting it, and the position of the military and police. Ultimately, it’s also extremely important to understand the objective of the March. ---------- *HOT DEALS:* *itel A70 - (128GB, 3GB RAM) $89,* *itel A70 - (256GB, 4GB RAM) $99* *itel P40 (128GB, 4GB), (6000mAh) $99* *itel P40 (64GB, 4G), (6000mAh) $93* *LATEST: itel S24 (128) $124; S24 (256GB) $159* Cash on Delivery in Harare & Bulawayo. The war veterans have been clear that this is not a Zanu-PF event and that it’s for all Zimbabweans. As such Zanu-PF members have been asked to not wear any party regalia. Besides the war vets, the following political and social leaders have also expressed their support for it: Dumiso Dabengwa Pastor Evan Mawarire Fadzayi Mahere Acie Lumumba (William Mutumanje) David Coltart Tendai Biti Shingi Munyeza ** *What is the position of the police and military* The Police has granted green light for the march to take place The military has supported the march and has called for peace and tolerance during the march. *Also Read:* Where is Zimbabwe Grounds? Pastor Evan Mawarire Calls For People to Join the March to State House. Military Releases Statement in Support of Solidarity March to Zimbabwe Grounds *Why are Zimbabweans Marching* Zimbabweans are marching to express their solidarity with the military intervention that took place in the early hours of the Wednesday this week. The military has asked that the President of Zimbabwe, Robert Mugabe resign. Basically, therefore, Zimbabweans are marching to ask Mugabe to resign. Other reasons that have been expressed however are that it’s also to ask SADC not to intervene in support of Mugabe. *How to be safe at any political March* ** *1. Have a charged phone and if possible a power bank* This enables you to communicate with others so that they know you’re safe. Also, ensure that you have at least a WhatsApp bundle or just some airtime on your phone for this purpose. *2. Let Others Know* Make sure at least one person knows you are going to the march. Update them when you get there and let them know your anticipated plan (are you staying the whole way, are you coming straight back immediately afterwards). If it lasts longer than anticipated, let the other person know. *3. Stay Alert* Always stay aware of your surroundings, especially when you join a big crowd. Make a mental note of all exits and know where police officers are located in case of emergency. The military and police have expressed support for the march and will be ready to assist when needed. *4. Beware of phone thieves* Where there are crowds, there are also unscrupulous people looking to harvest gadgets. Keep your phone in a secure place and be wary of people suspiciously bumping against you. Stay confident though – thieves usually pounce on the weak and apologetic. *5. Be the Peace* Don’t be the one to engage in violent actions. Pindula encourages you to bring your discipline and positive energy to this cause. Do not lose your temper if someone says something annoying – some people do this on purpose. Ignore them and focus on your cause. If feeling intimidated or extremely angry, ask for intervention from other marchers or the police. Emotionally responding uncontrollably will only harm the objectives of this march. _If you found this article useful_ *Please support Pindula by forwarding to friends and groups*
