In Bulawayo three of the armed robbers posed as police officers while the fourth was in handcuffs. Charamba said that the robbers accused the complainants of buying stolen doors from a local shop in Bulawayo and demanded to verify if the purchase was genuine. They handcuffed the first complainant while the second complainant had her hands tied and face covered with bandages.
