Chief Madlambudzi told The Chronicle that last Friday morning, Pious Sibanda (31) of Ngotsha Village in Madlambudzi Ward hit his ex-girlfriend Ms Immaculate Ncube (26) with a log until she lost consciousness, for turning down his marriage proposal and dumping him.

Sibanda’s body was later found hanging from a tree on the same day in the afternoon. Ncube is still admitted at Plumtree District Hospital where she narrated that the late Sibanda became furious when she told him to approach her family in Lupane if he wanted to marry her. Instead Sibanda wanted Ncube to move into his home without his or Ncube’s family’s knowledge.

The two agreed to separate but the separation did not go down well with Pious who attacked Immaculate at her work place.
