One hundred and forty-six (146) COVID-19 cases have been reported in schools since they opened last month, with 31 new cases reported last week, a senior government official has said.

Addressing a post-Cabinet briefing in Harare on Tuesday, Minister of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Monica Mutsvangwa said:

> A total of 146 confirmed COVID-19 cases have been reported since the opening of schools for the first term in January 2023.

> During the week under review, there were 31 new admissions, compared to the 40 recorded the previous week

Mutsvangwa said to date, a total of 6 693 001 first doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered, while 5 011 932 people have received their second dose.

About 1 427 670 people have so far received their third dose.
