The combination of these clouds and heat from the south led to significant rainfall in areas along the main watershed yesterday, namely Kadoma (92mm), Kwekwe (43mm), Chibero (37mm), Wedza (32mm), Mhondoro (30mm) and Rusape (29mm). *FORECAST FOR TOMORROW, WEDNESDAY 11 JANUARY 2023* Matabeleland South, Bulawayo Metropolitan, Masvingo and Manicaland Province should be mostly clear, windy and mild at first, becoming warm by afternoon with scattered clouds drifting in from the southeast. Brief cloudy periods and an odd shower remain probable in places. Isolated thunderstorms are anticipated in Matabeleland North, Midlands, Harare Metropolitan and all Mashonaland Provinces, with mostly cloudy and warm afternoon conditions, becoming mild towards evening. *IMPACTS* Lightning strikes remain a threat to humans and livestock, as well as infrastructure. Localized heavy rains may reduce visibility in a few areas, more so at night. Flash flooding is probable in localized areas especially those that have water-saturated soils, impervious (paved) grounds, wetlands and river basins. *ACTIONS TO TAKE* Avoid crossing flooded rivers, swollen streams, areas where flash flooding has occurred, or where flowing water is above ankle height. Noting that, a 30cm depth of flowing water can sweep away large vehicles. Wait for the water to subside before attempting to cross, even if no heavy rains have occurred in the area in question, they may have occurred upstream. When thunder roars, go indoors. Stay indoors for at least 30 minutes after the thunderstorms have ended. These are precautionary measures to reduce the chances of being struck by lightning. Do not park your vehicle under at tree or hide under a tree when a storm is approaching. *WEATHER OUTLOOK FOR THURSDAY 12 JANUARY 2023* Brief cloudy periods and isolated showers of rain are anticipated in provinces such as Matabeleland South, Bulawayo Metropolitan, Masvingo and Manicaland. It should be windy and mild for much of the day. Isolated thunderstorms are expected in the northern parts of Matabeleland North, northern districts of Midlands (Kwekwe to Gokwe), Harare Metropolitan and all Mashonaland Provinces, as mostly cloudy and warm afternoon conditions persist. Mild both morning and evening. _If you found this article useful_ *Please support Pindula by forwarding to friends and groups*
