Murwira Primary School headmaster, only identified as Mr Mugonesi is under investigation by the police for sexual abuse of pupils after images of him squeezing their private parts leaked online.

Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) spokesperson in Midlands Province Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko confirmed the development. He said:

Reports claim that the school recorded a 0% pass rate in the 2022 Grade Seven Zimbabwe School Examination Council (ZIMSEC) examinations.

One of the parents who commented in a WhatsApp group alleged that the school head was getting intimate with schoolchildren. Said the parent:

> We are calling on organisations to do with girl child rights and protection to intervene.

> This old man has been molesting kids and getting intimate with them. Let us make noise and help these vulnerable girls.
