Manna Resorts has issued a statement following a fire that damaged part of the complex on Tuesday afternoon.

The fire was caused by a lightning strike and destroyed part of the lodge’s accommodation facilities.

The statement, issued by Manna Resort CEO on 2 November 2022, says there were no human or wildlife casualties. Reads the statement:

> On 1 November 2022 at around 1230hrs, part of the Manna Resorts complex was struck by lightning which resulted in a fire.

> The impacted buildings were PaSangano Lifestyle Centre and parts of our Panzvimbo and Tata accommodation facilities.

> We are grateful for the swift response of both the fire brigade and emergency service that attended the site.

> We are happy to report that there were no human or wildlife casualties.

> As a result of the fire, we have reduced capacity for accommodation. However, the rest of the Manna offerings remain open as usual.

> We remain open for all conferences, weddings, wildlife tours and restaurant bookings as usual.

> Thank you to all our stakeholders for the support during this time and we look forward to serving you soon.
