According to statistics from the Ministry of Health and Child Care, from May 1 to 21 August, 123 deaths have been recorded countrywide. A total of 2 845 COVID-19 deaths were recorded in the same period last year during the height of the Delta variant which killed more people compared to Beta and Omicron.
