President Emmerson Mnangagwa is expected to announce measures to address the price rises in basic grocery items and services since the beginning of the year.

Addressing the Seventh National Congress of the ZANU PF Women’s League in Harare on Friday, Mnangagwa said he will announce the measures this Saturday. He said:

> We remain committed to ensuring sustainable delivery of social services such as water and sanitation, availing affordable and quality education, and improving access to green energy solutions, among others.

The prices of basic goods and services, including fuel, transport, electricity, and school fees, among others, have been rising since the beginning of the year.

Zimbabwe’s annual rate of inflation last month was 131.7 per cent from the April rate of 96.4 per cent.
