Cold both morning and evening. Elsewhere (Matabeleland South, Bulawayo, Matabeleland North, northern parts of Midlands, Harare and all Mashonaland Provinces), clear skies and cold morning conditions are anticipated with a slight ground frost in areas such as Matopos, Gweru, Kezi, Henderson and Marondera. It should be mild by day, becoming cold overnight. *IMPACTS* • A decrease in temperature affects the body’s health, with common colds, influenza and fever, as well as asthma, being common. • Wintry night may affect animals (pets and livestock) as well as plant life. • Nights, when the sky is clear, are actually much colder than those where cloudy conditions persist. • Ground frost is probable in areas such as Matopos, Gweru, Kezi, Henderson and Marondera. *ACTIONS TO TAKE* • Dress appropriately to keep warm and ensure that vulnerable members of society are kept warm. • Poultry producers should note that broilers are sensitive to temperature variations and therefore need to be checked regularly and adjustments made. • Farmers in areas prone to ground frost should undertake frost prevention measures such as overhead irrigation of crops. • Construct fireguards that are at least 9 metres wide and free from any debris or combustible matter (anything that can burn). • It is illegal to start veldt fire/uncontrolled burning of open fields. *TEMPERATURES FOR THE MAIN CITY CENTRES* Max today > Harare > 22 > Bulawayo > 22 > Gweru > 20 > Mutare > 21 > Kwekwe > 23 > Kadoma > 25 > Masvingo > 21 > Chinhoyi > 24 > Lupane > 27 > Bindura > 23 > Marondera > 20 > Gwanda > 22 Min tomorrow 09 12 05 09 10 07 12 10 08 09 06 12 Max tomorrow 22 23 21 22 24 25 23 24 27 23 21 24 *FORECAST OF TOMORROW’S WEATHER IN HOLIDAY RESORTS* RESORT Description TEMPERATURES Min > Max VICTORIA FALLS: Sunny and warm 10 26 KARIBA: Sunny and warm 13 29 GREAT ZIMBABWE: Windy with brief cloudy in the morning 12 23 NYANGA: Windy with brief cloudy in the morning 05 18 VUMBA: Windy with brief cloudy in the morning 07 20 MATOPOS: Windy with brief cloudy in the morning 06 21 CHIMANIMANI: Windy with brief cloudy in the morning 08 19 *OUTLOOK* *WEATHER FORECAST FOR THURSDAY 19 MAY 2022;* Manicaland Province and parts of Mashonaland East should be cloudy and cold at first, becoming less cloudy and slightly warmer as the day progresses.
