In a statement, ZUPCO management said the crisis was caused by the withdrawal of franchised vehicles by the owners. The owners of franchised ZUPCO buses and kombis withdrew their vehicles after the transport utility failed to pay them their dues. Meanwhile, the Government says it remains committed to ensuring the provision of a safe, affordable and reliable mass transport system to the citizenry.
