Police in Rusape on Sunday seized 304 bales of second-hand clothes that were stashed in a container belonging to suspected smugglers along the Harare-Mutare Road.

Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) national spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi said the driver deserted the truck after it was involved in an accident. He said:

> On 27/03/22, police in Rusape recovered 304 bales of second-hand clothes, at the 172 km peg along Harare-Mutare Road.

> The bales were in a container of a Man TGA 26 8 rigid truck which was deserted by the driver after it was involved in a road traffic accident with an Iveco bus.

Asst Comm Nyathi said investigations are underway.
