In a letter seen by Pindula News, Nyathi wrote to the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) indicating that he had also notified the party. Said Nyathi in the letter: *RE: WITHDRAWAL OF my CANDIDATURE FROM THE WARD 9 COUNCIL BY-ELECTION DUE IN MARCH 2022* > I take the opportunity to inform and notify you of my decision not contest the ward 9 Council by-elections which are scheduled for March 2022. Nyathi is a former member of the People’s Rainbow Coalition (PRC), a defunct party that was led by former Vice President Joyce Mujuru.
