Chembonje then bolted from the room, naked, but was manhandled by his lover’s husband and the two started fighting. The police officer overpowered Mashindi and he escaped still naked. Reads the memo: > _Accused Number (1) (Mashindi) returned to his bedroom and recovered Accused Number [2]’s property thus his police identity card, driver’s licence, Samsung mobile phone, car keys, a grey jacket, khaki Chino trousers, grey long-sleeved T/Shirt, and one unused condom._ The following day, Mashindi made an assault report to the police but was shocked when the police informed him, he was under arrest for engaging in disorderly conduct that left the cop with wounds on the head and arm. The police brought the charges against Mashindi basing on a complaint filed by his wife who witnessed the incident. Meanwhile, Chembonje, who is stationed at the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) Chikato Police Station, is now facing separate charges of putting the name of the police force into disrepute.
