In spite of a slight rise in the number of accidents recorded this past Independence Day, compared to 2020, 2 people lost their lives compared to last year when 11 people were killed in accidents. No major fatal road accidents were recorded on the country’s highways during the holiday. According to the statistics availed by police, the total number of road traffic accidents recorded in 2020 was 46, in 2021 the number rose to 52. The total number of fatal road accidents fell from 5 in 2020 to 2 in 2021. Two people died on Independence Day this year down from 11 last year. The number of people injured also fell from 20 to 18.
