Below are some of the equipment to be supplied under the agreement. 60 self-propelled grain harvesters, 210 precision seed drills, 474 tractors of different power capacities, fifth wheel trucks with semitrailers for transportation of heavy equipment and four dump trucks; fifth wheel trucks with semitrailers for transportation of heavy equipment, six semitrailers with hydraulic manipulator for transportation of construction machinery, 10 drop side trucks, firefighting equipment critical in forest business, cities and other communities and emergency rescue operations. 30 motor cycles and complete set of spare parts for every type of machinery and equipment delivered. The Ministry also indicated that training for beneficiaries shall include practical classes in every manufacturing plant. This comes when Zimbabwe is in dire need for food following a poor farming season due to drought. Some are sceptical about the facility after the ill-managed 2007/8 Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ)’s farm mechanisation programme failed to produce intended results.
