The protests were convened by Ngarivhume following the exposure of grand corruption by government officials including then Health Minister, Dr Obadiah Moyo who has since been fired over the scandal. Posting on social media, the embassy said: > Denying bail and using the legal system to jail journalist Hopewell Chin’ono, Transform Zimbabwe leader Jacob Ngarivhume, and others for exercising their rights undermines democracy and freedom of speech.
