*Senior Cop Implicated In Bulawayo Police Sibling Attack Case* *Follow Pindula on WhatsApp for daily new updates* https://whatsapp.com/channel/0029Va84dngJP21B2nWeyM3v?bk Lawyers representing two Bulawayo siblings who were brutally assaulted by police officers for allegedly violating lockdown regulations have raised concern over the way in which the matter is being handled. The victims were accusing a senior police officer with the rank of a superintendent of playing a key role in their assault, yet the officer was not amongst the suspects who appeared in court on Saturday. ---------- itel A70 256GB $99USD WhatsApp: https://wa.me/+263715068543 Calls: 0772464000 ---------- Nqobani Sithole, who is one of the siblings’ legal representatives, told NewZimbabwe.com that he met with the police on Monday to air the victims’ concerns. Sithole said: > We met with senior police officers within the hierarchy and it was agreed a senior officer of a rank of a Superintendent and above should investigate the matter. > The issue that we were raising was whether a senior officer in the police force can be investigated by a junior officer. Ntombizodwa and Nokuthula Mpofu were arrested on 16 April in Cowdray Park, Bulawayo and were severely injured after they were beaten with batons on their backs, hips and legs for hours. Six police officers, Tichaona Zariro, Christabel Munyondo, Elizabeth Denhere, Patson Gumoreyi, Zibusiso Masuku and Simbarashe Bvekwa were arrested last Friday for allegedly assaulting sisters. The cops were briefly taken to Western Commonage Magistrates’ Court on Saturday. *More: NewZimbabwe.com* _If you found this article useful_ *Please support Pindula by forwarding to friends and groups*
