*"A Good Number Of Expected Citizens Are Ex-Convicts," - Mangwana* *Follow Pindula on WhatsApp for daily new updates* https://whatsapp.com/channel/0029Va84dngJP21B2nWeyM3v?np The Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services, Nick Mangwana has said that some of the returnees expected to arrive tonight from South Africa are ex-convicts. He posted on Twitter this Saturday and said: ---------- Pindula is best experienced with the Android App. *Download APK here:* https://zero.pindula.co.zw/media/apps/apks/pindula23.apk _On Econet, Pindula does NOT use your data_ ---------- > Zim is expecting 18 buses through Beitbridge between tonight and tomorrow morning. These buses have 476 Zimbabweans deported from South Africa. A good number of the expected citizens are ex-prisoners. They are coming from different detention centres, some for documentation issues. > These are mainly former prisoners, some have different histories from murder, robbery, fraud, housebreaking and documentation problems. Reports suggest that some Zimbabweans who could not find jobs in South Africa resorted to criminal activities which ended some in rehabilitation centres. It is expected that some of the returnees will likely find life back home harder as they are coming straight from prisons with nothing for their welfare. The crime rate is likely to rise as they will do anything and everything to fend for themselves. Meanwhile, South African Immigration Officers at Beitbridge are reportedly issuing 5-year travel bans to Zimbabweans returning home, amove that is likely to affect cross border traders who could not return homedue to the COVID-19-induced lockdown.
