There is an overwhelming shortage of mealie-meal in the country, an issue that has affected the implementation of the national lockdown that is meant to stop the spread of the deadly coronavirus as citizens continue to queue wherever the commodity is reported to be. The WFP predicted late last year that there will be starvation in the country again in 2020 as the country received poor rains which were not enough to sustain the farming season.
