The price of blood has been hiked effective 1 December 2019. A notice issued by PSMI Laboratory, West End Hospital reveals the new prices as follows:

> REVISED BLOOD BANK CHARGES IN ZWL $ EFFECTIVE AS OF 1 DECEMBER 2019

> Group and Screen – $270.00

> Packed Cell per unit – $2 160.00

> FFPs per unit – $1 620.00

> Platelets per unit – $1 620

> Coombs test – $540.00

> Cross match labour – $180.00

> Note:

Group and Screen is charged once regardless of number of packs
Cross-match labour is multiplied times the number of packs supplied
Prices are subject to change
