UPDATE on CITIZWEAN CLINICS. We started helping citizens today in Cowdray Park Bulawayo. As at 1600hrs a total of 57 patients had been attended to. Thanks to a dedicated team of doctors and nurses who volunteered. 2. The majority of the elderly being seen have chronic conditions which requires medication on daily basis. A typical prescription will cost around USD20 or roughly ZWL400. Which is out of reach to many of those whom we attended to. 3.There have been a few but rising cases of patients who need specialist attention. We are still working to figure out what we can do for them. We have limited resources but we know people deserve a shot at decent life. 4. In the short term we have to raise more money and drugs to help as many pple as we can. We project the numbers to increase in the coming days as the word reaches more pple. If you can please donate here https://gofundme.com/f/zimbabwe-citizens-mobile-clinics… 5. We also need volunteer doctors, nurses and pharmacists. We had a challenge with the previous link, we have begun developing a more robust volunteer portal which wld allow us to know where the volunteer is based & areas they can cover. Please register https://citizwean.org 6. This is the beginning of greater things for us as citizens. Imagine the power we have to build solutions for ourselves. Imagine if we could have citizwean doctors that visit our parents for home visits, citizwean clinics and hospitals that work for our interests. We Dream!! The initiative according to Chari is meant to help those who need medical attention in Zimbabwe but can’t access it for a number of reasons ranging from the doctor’s strike, nurses not reporting for duty and shortage of drugs at the medical centres and not being able to afford either the medication or going to the hospital initially.
