Ncube is the chairman of Alpha Media Holdings, the publisher of several publications including News Day and The Independent. The incident took place when only yesterday (Friday), media practitioners were debating on the Zimbabwe Media Commission Bill which they criticised for taking away reporters’ rights at the same time giving excess powers to the Minister of Information and the Zimbabwe Media Commission.
