This was revealed by Higher and Tertiary Education, Science and Technology Development Minister, Amon Murwira, during a graduation ceremony at Belvedere Technical Teachers’ College (BTTC) recently. Zimbabwe’s 16 official languages are Chewa, Chibarwe, English, Kalanga, Koisan, Nambya, Ndau, Ndebele, Shangani, Shona, sign language, Sotho, Tonga, Tswana, Venda and Xhosa. BTTC currently has an enrolment of 2 950 (1 118 males and 1 832 females) as compared to 2 296 (917 males and 1 379 females in 2018, recording a 28 per cent increase.
