The Sunday Mail has posted a snippet of a video showing one of the alleged rape victims, Sarah Maruta, of religious leader Walter Magaya providing details of the events. The publication has promised to post the full videos as part of its weekly publication on Sunday.

Maruta was first mentioned as a rape victim in the Sunday Mail on 7 July 2019. She, however, denied that she was a rape victim and accused the Sunday Mail journalists of using her to fight Walter Magaya.

Walter Magaya has been the subject of a number of rape allegations since 2016. He has however not been convicted.
