The management requested that council advance of $217 009,13 for the rehabilitation of Moramutambara and Swazi roads while awaiting funds from ZINARA. ---------- itel A70 256GB $99USD WhatsApp: https://wa.me/+263715068543 Calls: 0772464000 ---------- Council management proposed that the advance would then be recovered from the disbursement by ZINARA. Meanwhile, mayor Josiah Makombe confirmed on Monday that he councillors had turned down the proposal. He said: > We want to channel all the resources that we have for now towards the provision of water. I think people are aware that we have a water crisis in the city. > The councillors felt that is our priority for now. Zinara is supposed to pay that money for the roads, so we wait until they do so and management was tasked to pursue them. Gweru, like most cities in Zimbabwe, is battling an acute water shortage with reports indicating that the city’s main supply dam, Gwenhoro Dam, only has supplies for the next two months. Council is frantically making efforts to source funds in order to switch to Amapongogwa Dam. *More: NewsDay* _If you found this article useful_ *Please support Pindula by forwarding to friends and groups*
