Salini Impregilo, Italy’s largest contractor, which is currently engaged on the Grand Renaissance Dam in Ethiopia. The dam was initially projected to consist of two power plants, each with an installed capacity of 800MW, one on the Zambian side and another on the Zimbabwean. The dam was planned as a 181m-high structure holding back 1.7 billion cubic metres of water. It is expected to be complete within 10 to 13 years.
