A policeman who allegedly raped and murdered his 20-year-old stepdaughter on Friday has been arrested. ZimLive reports that Constable Moses Nigel Jalasi, who is 27 years old was arrested in Mbare on Saturday walking barefoot with mud on his clothes.

Jalasi raped his stepdaughter at their house in Eastlea Harare and during the rape, the daughter screamed and he stabbed her 15 times with a pair of scissors.

Part of a police report on the matter said:

> During the rape, the now deceased is alleged to have cried and this prompted the accused to stab her 15 times in the abdomen and throat using a pair of scissors.

Jalasi’s wife, the mother the deceased is also a police officer.
