The accused were convicted in 589 of the cases, representing 22 percent of the total figure. Cases of Criminal Abuse of Office dominated the list representing 62 percent of the total. Ziyambi further broke down the numbers as follows: 1 644 cases of criminal abuse of office were reported, 301 officers were convicted. 923 bribery cases were, 271 suspects were convicted 56 were arrested for concealing a transaction from a Principal, 10 were convicted for the crime. 21 were arrested for concealing personal interests in transactions from a Principal 7 were convicted. Since his ascension to power, president Mnangagwa has been preaching the need to curb corruption. Recently he conceded that corruption was deeply entrenched that he had earlier envisioned. Meanwhile, some analysts believe that there is a lack of political will by the incumbent regime to fight corruption. They further that many arrests that were made have not yielded intended results.
