*Poaching On The High In Binga* *Follow Pindula on WhatsApp for daily new updates* https://whatsapp.com/channel/0029Va84dngJP21B2nWeyM3v?zu Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Management Authority (Zimparks) spokesperson Tinashe Farawo has indicated that most poaching cases emanate from Binga, Matebeleland North. After Binga, there is Hwange and then Victoria Falls. Farawo said: > In Victoria Falls between January and March the courts received 25 cases and 24 have been completed with 100% convictions. > In Binga, the courts received 39 cases and 38 were completed with 37 convictions and one acquittal. > In Hwange, the courts received 29 cases and 24 of them have already been concluded and four still pending. Villagers in areas where poaching activities are high attributed the trends to socio-economic hardships. Japhet Nyoni of Siabuwa village and Kujena Mumpande from Siansali village agree that villagers commit such crimes to fend for their families. ---------- Latest itel A06 on Pindula: 32GB storage, 4GB RAM $69 USD WhatsApp: +263715068543 Calls: 0772464000 ---------- Mumpande thinks courts should show temperance when dealing with such cases. He said: > At times you can come across a dead animal and the moment you pick it up, villagers immediately report you and you can go to jail for that, but these are animals injuring us and our livestock, so the courts must be lenient. Farawo however thinks high poaching cases are caused by the large numbers of animals in that area. > As for reasons why these offenders commit those crimes, is not something that I would like to be drawn into but I believe the numbers are higher in those areas due to vast wildlife. *Related:* *UPDATE: Arrest Of Victoria Falls Former Mayor’s Poaching Syndicate* More: CITE _If you found this article useful_ *Please support Pindula by forwarding to friends and groups*
