The Ward 3 Councillor was elected as the city’s Deputy Mayor against the party’s directive to impose Ward 1 Clr Mlandu Ncube in that position. Kambarami was given 7 days to comply with the directive. Constitutional lawyer Professor Lovemore Madhuku told The Chronicle MDC can fire councillors as the principle is similar to that used for firing Members of Parliament and Senators.
