*Reactions To President Mnangagwa's Post Election Cabinet* *Follow Pindula on WhatsApp for daily new updates* https://whatsapp.com/channel/0029Va84dngJP21B2nWeyM3v?gx President Emmerson Mnangagwa on Friday announced new ministers since winning the July 30 harmonised elections. He dropped a number of ministers who had been in the cabinet for close to two decades and appointed some new faces, some of whom had not served in politics until now. As usual, there were differing reactions, to the appointments. Here is how some people reacted on social media site, Twitter, > Mthuli Ncube is a big name. An accomplished scholar, his intellectual pedigree is not in doubt. A bit of trouble mid-2000s is unfortunate. But my old boss Morgan Tsvangirai had great respect for him & would have asked him to run the central bank if he had been allowed to govern. > — Alex T Magaisa 🇿🇼 (@Wamagaisa) September 7, 2018 ---------- Latest itel S24 available on Pindula: 128GB storage $119 USD WhatsApp +263783450793 ---------- > Congratulations to our new Minister @KirstyCoventry. The whole industry is looking up to you and I know you will deliver. All my prayers are with you, hope the Lord guides you as you lead the sports, arts and youths to better days. 🙏🏿 pic.twitter.com/R2KQGsnVny > — Jah Prayzah (@jahprayzah) September 7, 2018 > 3. Some deadwood and known crooks have been dropped from Cabinet. This is a good thing. There are some weak individuals and controversial characters but ED’s work ethic will force them to deliver. Great effort to winning public support @edmnangagwa > — Trevor Ncube (@TrevorNcube) September 7, 2018 > Nxah! pic.twitter.com/CDnFwRr3uP > — Prophet Cynic (@CynicHarare) September 7, 2018 > Seems twimbos from these streets are agreeing that @edmnangagwa did his best given calibre of Zanu PF MPs….fusion of experience and fresh blood brings confidence…Economy ahead of politics.. it seems…Yo take twimbos > — Elias Mambo/Zim Morning Post 🇿🇼🇲🇼 (@elias_mambo) September 7, 2018 > ED has pulled a blinder! Not one but three of my dear friends and favorite Zimbos made it to Cabinet! Congratulations to Mthuli Ncube, Sekai Nzenza and Kirsty Coventry! So so so proud. And congratulations to all the others. I am simply delighted ! > — Petina Gappah (@VascoDaGappah) September 7, 2018 > We have an Olympic champion as Sports Minister, which is a meritocratic appointment. It’s also a show of respect for sportspeople to appoint one of their own & an accomplished one at that. I wish @KirstyCoventry well and I hope she he’s all the support she needs to make it work. > — Alex T Magaisa 🇿🇼 (@Wamagaisa) September 7, 2018 https://twitter.com/GomoDubi/status/1038049234698813441 > I'm hugely impressed with the new Cabinet of Zimbabwe that was announced this afternoon.Let's roll up our sleeves and work to make our wonderful country great again! Go for it guys!! > — Obert Gutu (@GutuObert) September 7, 2018 > It's a Cabinet notable more for the usual suspects who didn't make it than the virtuosity of those who made it. The huge positive is a lot of corrupt, useless types are gone – the tragedy is those who made it still don't inspire confidence, except perhaps for two: Kirsty & Mthuli > — Mduduzi Mathuthu (@Mathuthu) September 7, 2018 > Pay back time .#Asakhe pic.twitter.com/ieSWQKpmtA > — Zenzele (@zenzele) September 7, 2018 https://twitter.com/NdinneMilayo/status/1038048267538522113 > Congratulations to @kirstycoventry1 on your appointment as Minister of Sports, Arts and Youths. It is great to see a woman receiving such a significant a appointment on merit. > — Tsitsi Dangarembga (@efie41209591) September 7, 2018 > BREAKING…Prof Mthuli Ncube at Finance and Kirsty Coventry in Sport. Those are fantastic appointments! > — Brezh Malaba (@BrezhMalaba) September 7, 2018 > Prof @MthuliNcube has the credentials to take us out of this economic quagmire. Let’s hope they give him the latitude to make tough decisions so we can get out of this hole. His approach to the monetary crisis & bond notes will tell us a lot. For now, let’s keep hope alive. > — Fadzayi Mahere (@advocatemahere) September 7, 2018 > Mthuli is not the best, he's an academic and best suited to RBZ not a ministry which requires a balance between the socio, economics and party ideology. Some of the faces of corruption are still present, eg prisca, joram (apa anodiwa ne mari abva aiswa ku energy kwairi) 2/10 > — Happi Zengeni-Manyere (@happ_zenge) September 7, 2018 https://twitter.com/matigary/status/1038051467310051328 > Kirsty vs Phidza. Kirsty vs chaotic Rugby. Kirsty vs. corrupt ZCU. Kirsty vs. shambolic Sports Commission. Kirsty vs. Youth Fund, Kirsty vs. Piracy….. Ya. Isn't she a bit of an elitist, an outsider?. She may fix sports & may be get manipulated by @DavidColtart on cricket but she'd have to consult widely and rightly on the needs of the common youth.
