*NUST Students Design App That Allows Customers To Buy LP Gas From Home, Invent Gas Leak Detection And Monitoring Device "Memeza"* *Follow Pindula on WhatsApp for daily new updates* https://whatsapp.com/channel/0029Va84dngJP21B2nWeyM3v?df The National University of Science and Technology (Nust) Enactus club have designed an application called “Need Energy Express” that allows consumers to buy Liquefied Petroleum (LP) Gas from the comfort of their homes. Speaking to The Chronicle, Nust Enactus club secretary general, Miss Nyasha Ncube said they partnered with local gas retailers to supply gas on demand. She said the app was made to curb inaccessibility of LP Gas particularly in high density suburbs. Said Ncube: ---------- Pindula is best experienced with the Android App. *Download APK here:* https://zero.pindula.co.zw/media/apps/apks/pindula23.apk _On Econet, Pindula does NOT use your data_ ---------- > So this application allows people to order gas via SMS or Whatsapp. We divert the order to a franchised and registered gas retailer who collects the canisters for refill and the buyer pays on delivery through mobile money transfer or cash. This mobile application also verifies the supplier and the buyer. The students have also invented gas leak detection and monitoring device called “Memeza” which is installed near the gas cylinder. Ncube said if the Memeza device detects a gas leak, it beeps and sends an SMS notification to one’s phone. The device also alerts a client when their gas is low, and based on their history of gas usage, it then estimates the number of hours that the remaining gas will run for.
