Sungura musician Alick Macheso is expected to launch his long awaited album on the 8th of June at the Aquatic Complex in Chitungwiza. The launch will also mark his 50th birthday celebration as well as the commemoration to Orchestra Mberikwazvo’s 20th anniversary. Leonard Zhakata, Jah Prayzah, Sniper Storm and Feheem Somanje are expected to perform.

Macheso has been playing some songs off the new album at live shows. Some of the new songs being played at live shows from the coming album are “Kudzwai”, “Ruregerero” and “Wandisiya Ndiri Mupenyu”. The Herald reported the album was being recorded at his Alema Studios in Chitungwiza and that producer Bothwell Nyamondera was working with Macheso from the beginning of the project. Macheso had scheduled to release the album in 2017 but shelved the plan saying the music he had recorded was not good enough.
