This is the second meeting to be disrupted after last week’s meeting in Bulawayo was cancelled after the Mthwakazi Republic Party (MPR) protested against the composition of the Commission saying that the majority of the commissioners were Shona. The NPRC is the body tasked with looking into the Gukurahundi Massacres, among other issues in order to promote national healing and reconciliation. Youths from Mthwakazi demanded that President Emmerson Mnangagwa should answer for his role in the Gukurahundi atrocities. However, there were reports that the disruptive youths were not from Lupane but had been bused from Bulawayo. The allegations were made by local legislator MP Khumalo who later left the meeting.
