Speaking to Star FM news, Apex Council chairperson Mrs Cecilia Alexander said Government will release a framework on how the payment of civil servants’ 2017 bonuses will be staggered. The framework will be released this week.

While presenting the 2018 National Budget in December last year, Finance Minister Patrick Chinamasa assured civil servants that they will be paid their bonuses although the payments will be staggered due to cash flow challenges. Mrs Alexander also expressed concern on the lack of effective communication between government and its workers following the placement of the civil service to the Office of the President and Cabinet (OPC) from the Ministry of Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare.
