As of 2015, Mugabe revealed he was earning a salary of $12 000 per month which was three times the $4 000 a month he earned in 2014. The salary increase from 4 000 to 12 000 was never explained. Mugabe publicly complained that his salary was not enough and there are chances that it was increased from $12 000 a month. At the time Mugabe complained saying that he was suffering like the rest of Zimbabweans and said: > We should all just be grateful that we have food on our tables.
