Former Finance Minister and leader of the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Tendai Biti has been accused of having tribalistic tendencies. The accusations came from secretary general Gorden Moyo who has fallen out with Biti over the issue of joining the MDC Alliance. Moyo went as far as likening Biti to the Rwandese Interahamwe and the Sudanese Jinjaweeds who have been responsible for ethnic slaughter in their countries.
