This comes after Victor Matemadanda made a statement to the private media in which he reminded Zimbabwe Defence Force commander General Constantino Chiwenga that in a democratic country, citizens are free to air their grievance. He also said that he would not be silenced saying that only those who were benefitting from the present system wanted to silence any dissent. General Chiwenga had warned “nobodies” in the war veterans to stop attacking the President after Douglas Mahiya had said that the war veterans are not interested in a Mugabe dynasty.
