Chilowa rushed to the burning house barefoot and in his pyjamas, and asked the two children to jump into his outstretched hands. Je was able to catch the two children successfully. The house burned down in Withington, Manchester on Friday morning. The parents of the two children died in the fire. The blaze also injured four other children aged between 10 and 17. The four are reported to be in stable condition in the hospital.
