*Govt addresses rumour that it is reducing salaries for university staff* *Follow Pindula on WhatsApp for daily new updates* https://whatsapp.com/channel/0029Va84dngJP21B2nWeyM3v?fk In a statement, the Ministry of Higher and Tertiary Education, Science and Technology Development Permanent Secretary, Ambassador Machivenyika Mapuranga highlighted that the ministry officials met with all state universities vice chancellors, where it was agreed that no decision has been made by government to reduce its obligation to meet its employment costs at state universities, meaning the salaries remain the same. Mapuranga said his ministry has written to the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development highlighting his ministry’s disappointment on the decision made by Patrick Chinamasa’s ministry in cutting down employment expenditure at state universities while institutions are owed in excess of US$7 million in unpaid areas by students from disadvantaged areas. He said the ministry has since agreed to work with vice chancellors of state universities and the staff association in finding a lasting solution while salaries remain the same. ---------- Latest itel S24 available on Pindula: 128GB storage $119 USD WhatsApp +263783450793 ---------- More: ZBC News itel A50 now available on Pindula at $84 64GB storage, 2GB RAM. _ideal for light usage_ _If you found this article useful_ *Please support Pindula by forwarding to friends and groups*
