Two Gokwe Men Crushed By Truck During Jump-start
A Gokwe man died while his colleague was injured when the two were squeezed in between cars as they tried to jump-start one of the vehicles.
Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) spokesperson in Midlands Province, Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko, confirmed the incident saying the now deceased, Richard Mamutsire (42), was attending to a Tata truck that had a faulty starter motor. He said:
Mamutsire, who was being assisted by Milton Mangoro at their workshop in Gokwe town, then drove another truck in front of the Tata truck intending to jump-start it. In the process, the two were trapped in between the two trucks.
FeedbackInsp Mahoko added that the two men were ferried to Gokwe District Hospital but Mamutsire was pronounced dead upon admission.
Mangoro, whose age was not given, was treated and discharged.
