Tobacco Contracting Companies Must Supply Proof Of Inputs Distributed To Farmers - TIMB

The Tobacco Industry and Marketing Board (TIMB) has advised that tobacco contracting companies are required to supply proof of inputs to farmers by the 30th of November 2021. TIMB Chief Executive Officer, Meanwell Gudu said in a statement:

TIMB wishes to advise that all tobacco contracting companies are required to supply proof of inputs distributed to farmers, in the form of paid-up invoices for inputs or valid payment plans with suppliers. This requirement should be fulfilled by 30th of November, 2021.

Contractors have an obligation to support at least a minimum package of inputs set at US$1000/ha and US$4000/ha for both small scale and large scale growers respectively. Growers who did not get a full package of inputs will be de contracted in the TIMB system.
