Stop Threatening Ricky Fire - Job Sikhala

Job Sikhala, a senior official in the opposition Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) led by Nelson Chamisa has warned individuals who are allegedly threatening Zimdancehall chanter, Ricky Fire, to “stop it” saying “It won’t end well!!!”

Ricky Fire, born Tulani Takavada, performed at a CCC rally on Sunday and is now being threatened by individuals who want him to tell whether he is a politician or a musician.

Messages by Nyatsimba Mutota allegedly sent to Ricky Fire read:

Cde

I’m giving you 24 hours to issue a press statement clarifying whether you are an artist or a politician, And I want you to consider yourself warned!!

Don’t try to deceive people hiding behind music whilst you are a sanctions BEGGER,

The countdown has begun!!!

Ricky Fire is among a handful of artists who recently openly endorsed Chamisa. These include Sanii Makhalima, and Seh Calaz.

Apart from a few musicians such as Thomas Mapfumo, now living in the United States, the majority of artistes have been choosing to conceal their political orientations in fear of being victimised.

A number of artistes including Jah Prayzah, and Winky D have been victimised in the past for supporting either the ruling ZANU PF or the opposition.
